Toton Wheel Lathe Installation
Installation of a replacement wheel lathe machine and associated electrical works
Project Description
- AFC designs were developed and submitted to the client
- Installation of a new dividing wall to demarcate the lathe road from the adjacent wash road
- Decommission and removal of existing equipment and wheel lathe
- Excavation of concrete slab surrounding the sides of the pit and installation of propping system
- Installation of reinforced concrete
- Pumping arrangements were installed to remove any potential contaminated groundwater from the pit into existing drainage
- Duct routes installed
- Associated electrical works
- A Frame heavy lift gantry crane installation
- Installation of a new wheel lathe using a megalift system
- Concrete floor painting works, grinding down of existing surface, 2 coats of non-slip floor paint with quartz sand were applied
- Southern slab works; the existing slab was saw cut and broken out. A new blinding layer and steel reinforcements were installed. Insitu concrete was poured, cured and striked accordingly
- These works were completed over two phases
